The Elysian | 750 sqm of Transcendent, Premium Residential Home
We introduce to you, The Elysian, a family home where paradise meets practicality.
The Elysian; of paradise, happiness, and eternal life.
Originating from Greek mythology, The Elysian Fields were created as a resting place for mortals favored by the great gods. In this case, this residential design project was intended for a similar, glorious purpose.
Located at Acropolis Village, Quezon City, The Elysian is a three-storey premium residential home with its interiors designed by Hurray. Spearheaded by IDr. Karizza Uy, PIID, this abode is resting place to Lawrence and Jennifer Yu—a successful business couple with two children.
Our Clients
Lawrence Yu is the executive vice president of Sea Oil—the largest, independent fuel company in the Philippines. He’s also the Managing Director to Novel Capital, a leading finance & private equity group in Asia. With a life so filled with business venture and top-notch coordination, our clients longed for a sense of permanence; a light and luxurious space to harbor beautiful memories for their family over the years.
Enter the perfect designer on our team to lead the project: Karizza!
Karizza is one of our talented Design Leads. She's had about ten years of interior design experience under her belt training with our Principal Designer from sales to full interior design. Ever since she ventured into interior styling projects with Design by Heima (Hurray's parent company), she's always had a passion for designing residential houses' interiors.
The Design Theme
Drawing from our existing pool of curated design themes, The Elysian falls under Practical Luxury: an interplay between extravagance & functionality. This is Hurray's modern take on the classic, hotel theme that our local clients love and adore; exuding the feeling of a "home aways from home," without ever having to put your shoes on. In line with this idea, our client shares his thoughts on having a Practical Luxury design for their home;
“Jenny and I like to travel and stay in hotels with this look. Having this design feels like we're bringing our travels back to our home. I also like the clean look, it gives the feeling of tranquility.” — Sir Lawrence Yu

The Brief
During the brainstorming process, Karizza recalls that the clients were keen on optimizing relaxation without sacrificing quality. Both Lawrence and Jennifer shared strong preferences for premium, designer brands; observing the decadent likes of Vito Selma, Catellan Italia, Novamobili, Bernhardt, and Scavolini to decorate their new home.
The Finishes
Having had several practical luxury projects over the years, we asked Karizza to shed some light as to why our clients tend to prefer this style. She mentions that "many of Hurray's clients are drawn to the concept of Practical Luxury because of the premium level of experience offered by a staycation feeling." Going into the details, this theme includes elegant soft finishes, leather textures, natural stones, & mixed metals.
We're excited to reveal more about The Elysian in the next few days! In the next post, we get up close & personal with the details— diving deep into the premium pieces we selected for the project!
