A Plant-iful Christmas Season with Fig and Vine
It all started as a passion project. Envisioning a floral design studio that creates upscale floral arrangements, Stephanie Coyiuto-Tay, founded Fig and Vine in September of 2019. From simple bouquets to grand centerpieces, Floral and Vine aims to curate beautiful and special floral designs into your home or to your loved ones.
With the best florists here in the Philippines, Fig and Vine has produced 11 collections. One of their collections was released during the pandemic, their Plants + Planters collection. Perfect for our plantitos and plantitas! They also added dried flowers to their line of products as a longer lasting option. Clients are also able to customize the designs whether it’s to add more scents or to create something new entirely.
For this Christmas season, let’s see what Fig and Vine has in store for the community!
With Christmas nearing and people decorating for the season, please tell us about your holiday collection. What inspired you to create the designs you have for this year?
At Fig and Vine, we put our customers first always so we know that people are mostly staying in their homes. Of course it’s very difficult for them to go out, hang with friends. We saw the need for people… there’s a difficulty for people to make their love felt by their loved ones because the physical intimacy is missing. Our motivation with this holiday collection is making people feel special even being far apart.
We wanted to come up with something different. We didn’t want something you can readily find in shopping malls like Christmas trees that are ready made. With the restriction, like people can’t travel to Baguio or to other countries where it’s cool, we wanted to bring something fresh for them. So we created our holiday collection to introduce fresh pine trees or fresh pine wreaths because there’s a different kind of feeling when you smell something. It’s not just the physical presentation but we also wanted to introduce something to tickle the other senses.
Tell us about some of the pieces that you would like to highlight for this Christmas collection.
I’ll highlight our bestsellers per product line. So Poinsettia’s, we only have two, red and white. People are reminded of Christmas because of the red and white. And so, I’d suggest the red Poinsettias. For door hangers, we also have two styles but the best selling arrangement is the Olive. It’s smell is more complex since it has dried oranges, cinnamon, and cypress. Centerpieces, I would say our best selling is Avery. But if they want something dry, they can go for Eira or Eve. For the wreaths, the best seller is the Bianca Grande. So there are two types of Bianca, a regular Bianca and a Bianca grande which only comes in large. But if you want something to give to your friends, you can go for something understated and not super flashy. You can go for Carlotta wreath or you can go for Nari. It has a lot of scents embedded into it; there’s berries, fresh pines, cinnamon, and dried oranges. For the Christmas tree, it really depends on the interior of the home.
