The Calm Calling | 200 sqm of Contemporary Luxe
Inspired by classic hotel living, The Calm Calling is an exciting, premium condominium project at One Shangri-La Place, Mandaluyong City. Built around the concept of refined luxury, the posh unit is a perfect match for the client's preference for a calm lifestyle decorated with tranquil hues.
The Brief
What we hoped would be a 1-month styling project turned out to be a 6-month engagement due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown procedures. Nevertheless, our team persevered by working from home and closely communicating with the client to deliver his dream space inspired by his main element: water.
The Living Area
Diving into the details, the showstopper for the living room space is the Cream Living Area Sofa by Taylor Living, paired with a versatile Avenue Black C Side Table from Crate and Barrel. Functional yet chic, we designers believe that it pays to have furniture you can transport from one corner to another—especially for condominium units!
To bring a touch of nature within, we furnished the walls with art pieces from Studio Fino. The Khaki Rug from Deco Living adds a subtle texture to the room; bringing comfort that's oh-so far from subtle.
Paying close attention to the client's lucky element, the design team procured a pair of Ink Blue Roar & Rabbit Swivel Chairs from West Elm. Trust us when we say these velvet pieces are absolutely irresistible—like a dream you can touch and feel!
Opposite the seating space is the timeless Quinn Media Console from West Elm, contrasting a dark gray accent wall to balance the wall paneling we set into place.
The Dining Area
True to our theme of contemporary living, the dining area is no exception to the sleek, yet modern. Illuminating the space is the mesmerizing Balance Chandelier by West Elm. Since we believe that reflective surfaces are a wonderful addition to add scale to a home, the space is also decorated with a Circular Mirror by Curio Cavern. Talk about effortlessly stylish!
The Master Bedroom
On to the master bedroom, we aimed to create a space that feels unmistakably tranquil. To bring this vision to life, we used blue curtains while keeping the walls cool and neutral.
One of the main perks of working with #TeamHurray is our ability to procure custom, designer furniture for a fully personalized space. The center of the bedroom is this King-sized Custom Bed by Studio Fino, along with its floor to ceiling padded headboard. The room is tied together with something bold and blue; a rug from Deco Living to add a visual interest to the space.
You can also get a feel of the classic and contemporary with the Bed Bench by Kuka Home, alongside the Black Antique-finish Lamps by Archipelago Home, finished with a Bedside Clock from Pottery Barn.
The Guest Bedrooms
Following a slightly sandy color scheme, the first guest bedroom elevates hotel living made breathable. Furnished with a king-sized bed, the Headboard was supplied by our friends at Wallcrown, with a Cream-colored Rug from Deco Living to complement the palette.
Decorating the side tables are a pair of modern, Archipelago Bedside Lamps for an airy ambiance any guest would fawn over.
For the second guest bedroom, we tapped into Studio Fino's expertise once more for a Custom Padded Headboard that stretches across the wall. Not only can does this accommodate two single beds, but you'll also notice that it adds so much more dimension to the space!
Across the single beds is a spacious, Open Closet by Moderno.
As interior designers, our attention to detail is what makes our job enjoyable! To complete the space, we selected the Saffi Rug from West Elm (which is a definite must-have!)
